Photographer Rights in the UK - Quick reference to your rights if stopped by the Police/PCSO.
There are occasions when individuals going about their normal daily business may be approached by the Police to be stopped and questioned or stopped and searched. There have even been cases when photographers and bloggers have been stopped under Anti-Terrorism laws. Mostly the police will be within their rights to perform these stops but it may feel that it is wrong and you are unaware of you own rights as an individual when interacting with the Police.
This double sided card gives a very brief overview of your rights, and what you should say to the police when stopped, it also links directly to the government advice on police powers. Yep this card hand and remember always remain calm when interacting with the authorities.
In the UK there is no law against photography in a public place nor any expectation of privacy. There are of course grey areas.
A few movements like "Photography is not a Crime" and "I am a Photographer Not a Terrorist" continue to educate the police and public on their rights, but it is very handy to have this information to hand to help explain to some of the less informed officials if you are stopped.
Professionally printed double sided PVC wallet card
The card is the same size and thickness as your debit or credit card.
